About This Free Online Stream Countdown Overlay

Our free stream countdown overlay creates a "starting soon" timer for your live stream — no plugin, no signup. Choose a duration (counts down from when the source loads) or a target time (counts to a fixed clock time), set your label, theme, accent color, and background, then copy the overlay URL into an OBS, Streamlabs, or Twitch Studio Browser Source. Duration mode even survives an OBS source refresh, so your countdown does not reset by accident. The overlay can be fully transparent or use a solid scene background. Everything runs in your browser and your settings live in the URL.

Frequently Asked Questions About Stream Countdown Overlay

Does the countdown reset when OBS refreshes the source?

No. In duration mode the overlay stores the end time in the browser source, so a refresh keeps counting from where it was. To restart the countdown, change the minutes or re-add the source.

What is the difference between duration and target mode?

Duration counts down a set number of minutes from when the overlay loads — ideal for a "starting in 10:00" screen. Target mode counts down to a fixed clock time, like 8:00 PM, which is handy for a scheduled start.

Is the background transparent?

It can be. Choose Transparent to show just the timer over your scene, or Dark / Gradient for a full starting-soon screen that covers everything.
